Caroline Baynes

Chair of Local Governing Body at King’s Gate Primary School, Trustee & Chair of Audit Committee

 

Has been a Trustee since the Trust’s formation

Worked as a corporate lawyer, was head of procurement for a large financial institution.

Currently working as a development officer for England Hockey

Nicola Gilbert
Executive Headteacher of King Alfred Trust

2010: appointed Headteacher of Pewsey Primary School.

2014: led school through academy conversion.

2017: designated National Leader of Education.

2019: opened free school – King’s Gate Primary

2022: Puddleducks Joined Trust

Henrietta Nettlefold 

 

Trustee

Henrietta has been a Trustee at King Alfred Trust since March 2023.

She has a background in fundraising and running a charitable organisation.

 

Karen Shields

Chair of Trust (October 22)  

As a former parent of Pewsey Primary School, Karen spent 15 years as a school governor - some of this time as Chair.

She has been a Trustee since the Trust’s formation.

Karen works in Business and Management Development supporting a variety of companies nationally through mentoring and coaching.

Wendy Spencer

 Trustee & Chair of Finance and Staffin

Wendy joined King Alfred Trust in 2020

She has a School Business & Finance background. 

Linda Trapnell

Chair of Local Governing Body at Pewsey Primary  School & Trustee 

Linda joined the Trust Board in October 2021.

In October 2022, Linda became Chair of Pewsey Local Governing Body.

Linda has over 50 years’ experience in education, with 10 years as a Headteacher.

Linda is now an independent Education Consultant, working with University College London /Institute of Education on leadership programmes and coaching.

Linda has over 10 years’ experience of being a Governor and a Trustee at a Multi Academy Trust in London.

Roger White

Trustee & Chair of Premises, Health & Safety 

Roger joined the Trust Board in March 2021. He has an engineering background and brings with him a wealth of Business and Marketing experience.

 

Cheryl James 

Trustee 

 Cheryl joined the Trust in September 2020. 

Cheryl has a background in education, teaching at an Independent school and Head of Department in a large Sixth Form College.  She then spent six years in the Army before joining Dstl, Porton Down in Programme Management.

Jan Peaty 

Chief Financial Officer  

Jan joined the Trust in September 2021 as our Chief Financial Officer.  Jan has a background in finance.

Member 

Alison joined the Trust in 2018 as a member.  Her background is in Primary Education, teaching and management, in South London, followed 

 

 

Jon Thompson

Member 

Jon is a qualified accountant who worked for 40 years in the Financial Services and Investment Management industry.

 He is currently non-executive Chairman of a Financial Services company and is a keen swimmer and cyclist.

 

Rev Barry Davis  

Member 

Barry is currently the Pastor of Amesbury Baptist Church.  He has been a Member of King Alfred Trust since 2019. 

 

 

 

 

Robert De Berry   

Member 

Robert has lived in Pewsey with his wife Gill since 2008.  They have three children and seven grandchildren. Prior to that he was a Vicar in two London parishes in Queen’s Park and at Kennington Oval. In both parishes, he was Chair of Governors of the adjacent church primary schools.  He has made many visits to Africa, many of those to Uganda.  His interests are cycling, singing and all forms of transport.  He is very involved with the ministry of St. John the Baptist Church, Pewsey and part of the OPEN THE BOOK  team in the local primary schools. He has served as a Member of King Alfred Trust since 2019.

She worked as a corporate lawyer and was head of procurement for a large financial institution.

Caroline is currently working as a development officer for England Hockey.
